Philip Schuyler [1733-1804] was a soldier of the French & Indian Wars, a Major General during the American Revolution, a member of the Continental Congress, and a United States Senator from New York.

Established Seven Years after Illinois became a State

Formed on 13 Jan 1825 from Pike County and unorganized territory previously attached to Pike County, Illinois.

Part of the Military Tract
