148th REGIMENT INFANTRY.
- Organized at Camp Butler, Ill., and
- mustered in February 21, 1865.
- Moved to Nashville, Tenn., February 22-26,
- thence to Tullahoma, Tenn., March 1.
- Attached to 1st Brigade, Defences Nashville & Chattanooga R. R. to April, 1865.
- 2nd Brigade, 1st Sub-District, District of Middle Tennessee Dept. of the Cumberland to June, 1865.
- 3rd Brigade, 1st Sub-District, District of Midale Tennessee, to September, 1865.
SERVICE.-
- Duty at Tullahoma, Tenn., till June 18, 1865
- then distributed
- 6 Companies at Decherd,
- 1 Company at McMinnville and
- 4 Companies guarding Nashville & Chattanooga R. R. from Lombardy to Anderson's Station till September.
- Mustered out at Nashville, Tenn., September 6, 1865.
Regiment lost during service
- 2 Enlisted men killed
- 1 Officer and 70 Enlisted men by disease
- Total 73.
